CABOT, Ark. (News Release)- A Cabot High School teacher receives a Wreaths Across America award.

Angela Beason received the 2018 Wreath Across America TEACH award at the 4th Annual Service & Recognition Ceremony held on May 3, at The Officer’s Club at Ft. Myer in Arlington, VA.

The annual awards recognize individuals and organizations that exemplify the mission to “Remember our fallen U.S. veterans, Honor those who serve, Teach your children the value of freedom”.

Beason is recognized for her work as a dedicated educator, Wreaths Across America Volunteer Location Coordinator, and for her support as a board member for the nonprofit Arkansas Run for the Fallen.

The mission of Arkansas Run for the Fallen is to raise awareness for Arkansas military service members who have died while serving on active duty since September 11, 2001, and to provide
support to families grieving the death of a loved one in military service.

“With our annual awards, Wreaths Across America honors those special individuals and organizations who commit personal time, action and intention in remembering our nation’s fallen heroes,” said Karen Worcester, executive director, Wreaths Across America. “National Wreaths Across America Day is an event, but Wreaths Across America is a year-round mission. It is the heartfelt efforts of individuals like Angela, who make it their personal mission to Remember, Honor and Teach, and share the stories of the people who have served and sacrificed for our freedoms.”

Currently, Beason coordinates fundraising efforts and Wreaths Across America Day ceremonies at several central Arkansas-area cemeteries. Her goal is to ensure that every hero that is honored at the Run for the Fall Memorial receives a wreath, no matter where they are buried. To sponsor a $15 wreath for one of these heroes, you can visit Beason’s fundraising page here.

This year, National Wreaths Across America Day will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018. It is a free event, open to all people. For more information or to find a participating cemetery near you, click here.
