Arkansas Stop the Violence celebrates 30 years

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas Stop the Violence is marking a big anniversary this weekend.

The nonprofit was founded 30 years ago by Reverend Benny Johnson during a particularly violent period of drug and gang activity in Central Arkansas.

A ceremony to commemorate the anniversary was held Sunday afternoon at the Greater Shiloh Baptist Church on Hazel Street in North Little Rock.
