BENTON, Ark.- It was a full house Friday night at the Reagan- Rockefeller Dinner in Benton for the Arkansas GOP’s largest fundraiser of the year.
This year’s keynote speaker was former U.S. Congressman Trey Gowdy from South Carolina.
Gowdy previously served as chairman of both the House Select Committee on Benghazi and the Oversight Committee.
Party leaders hope the event reminds Arkansans of what’s at stake in the upcoming 2020 elections.
“We feel good in Arkansas, but we never take anything for granted,” says Doyle Webb, the chairman of the Republican Party of Arkansas. “Trump will fire up our base, but Trey Gowdy will help encourage the base tonight.”
This was Gowdy’s second trip to Arkansas.
