Arkansas Homeless Coalition needs supplies

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Arkansas Homeless Coalition and the City of Little Rock need your help to provide assistance for people who lost everything because of the flood.

The organization says many campsites where homeless people lived got washed away.

Now they’re having to start over and need items like tents, tarps, sleeping bags, blankets, toiletry items and camping supplies.

Workers have already received some donations and distributed it to different groups that help the homeless.

“It’s hard to survive its like a person who has a car. If he has a flat without a spare he is in trouble and so it is for a person who is homeless they lose what they need to make it through the day to get to where they trying to go and it’s going to be hard on them too,” says
Chris Porter.

Porter says if you would like to help you can drop off items at the Willie Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center on West 12th Street.
