LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- Verizon has informed 600 call center employees they will be transitioning to a work-at-home model.
The employees were notified Wednesday in meetings.
The call center employees will be phased out of the office with the transition completed by October 2018.
Non-call center employees will continue to work at the location on Verizon Drive.
Verizon spokesperson Jeannine Brew says this is "by no means a layoff".
The employees can apply for another position within the company.
