1950’s RCA television camera on permanent display in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – You can get a glimpse of television history here in Arkansas thanks to a recent donation.

An original RCA television camera from the 1950’s is now on display at the Pryor Center.

It was the first camera used in the Kansas City, MO market.

Jane and Benjamin Mead donated the piece of equipment after picking it up from its original station.

They thought it would be right at home at the Pryor Center.

“Be able to connect the dots and understand wow, how far we’ve come but this is really how it started. And that’s what makes the prior center so special,” says Dr. Benjamin Mead.

The camera will now be on permanent display at the Pryor Center.
