SHERWOOD, Ark.– Police need your help locating the driver of a truck that is wanted for questioning after 4 pallets of roof shingles were stolen from the Millers Crossing neighborhood early Tuesday morning.

Sherwood Police searches for more than 10,000 pounds of stolen roof shingles that were reported stolen Tuesday morning.

We learned from Sherwood PD that this is the third major theft case with roofing shingles in less than six months.

Sgt. Tyler Gaunt said, “Whether or not they’re all related? I think there’s a good probability they are but we don’t know that for certain.”

Criminals could not keep Bolin Roofing off the clock for long on Creekview Drive.

“Well I get sick to the stomach. Somebody took our shingles,” James Bolin said.

James Bolin, who owns the roofing company that thieves hit, talked with us Wednesday– the day after his team showed up to the Sherwood construction site to find 4, empty pallets.

“If you see something going on call your police department. After hours there shouldn’t be anyone on these job sites,” Bolin said.

The boss explained that when they arrived on Tuesday morning to the home that’s being built in the 1500 block of Creekview Drive in the Millers Crossing neighborhood they found that thieves stole all their supplies.

Police said a camera caught a truck circling the area half a dozen times in 2 hours early Tuesday morning.

“They is a person of interest let’s say and we would like to talk with them. And we think they have information about where those shingles went,” Sgt. Gaunt said.

Bolin explained the 4 pallets had about 12,000 pounds of shingles on them.

Sherwood PD said this is the third major, roof shingle theft case in the city in less than 6 months.

Sgt. Gaunt said all cases were at new construction sites.

“Another was December where another $3000 worth (of shingles) was stolen. Then another in April where a $1000 worth of shingles was stolen,” he said.

Sgt. Gaunt said all three cases in the last six months have, “all occurred at new construction sites.”

Bolin said this was not the first time that thieves recently stole from his roofing company at a construction site.

“You know it’s hard earned money,” he said.
