LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A trial scheduled to begin next week in the 2016 shooting death of a local toddler has been delayed.
The Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office says the attorney for suspect Gary Holmes (photo above) on Friday asked for another mental exam for his client.
Holmes is accused in the Dec. 2016 road rage shooting that killed 3-year-old Acen King (photo below).
The child had been riding in the backseat of his grandmother’s car when police say Holmes fired at the vehicle when it had stopped at a stop sign.
The trial for Holmes was set to begin on Tuesday.
