Keith Humphrey announced as new LRPD Chief

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- Keith Humphrey is named Little Rock Police Department’s next chief. 

Humphrey comes to Little Rock from Norman, Oklahoma, where he was the police chief. 

Humphrey has 30 years experience working in law enforcement, first joining the Forth Worth Department in Texas. The Texas native has spent more than a third of his career working as a chief, first at a suburban department outside of Dallas before moving to Norman.

Humphrey called the position “a dream come true”.

“This selection begins a new era of establishing in some communities and enhancing in others, the trust that is crucial between police and the community if we truly desire to unite and focus on moving our city forward,” Scott said.

According to a news release from the City of Little Rock, Humphrey is expected to start his job as LRPD’s chief on April 22.
