JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. — Jefferson County is still trying to manage a budget shortfall through furloughs.

Judge Gerald Robinson furloughed 30% of his staff and the Juvenile Court will be doing the same, but other departments including the Sheriff’s Department are not keen on the idea.

The judge is giving those departments till Monday to come up with an alternative plan that will save the county the same amount of money.
