Jefferson County Judge asking elected officials, department heads to furlough 30% of staff

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. — Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson is asking elected officials and department heads to trim 30% of their staff.

Judge Gerald Robinson says he’s already told 30% of his own staff they were being furloughed.

He called it one of the hardest things he will probably have to do.

The county is looking at a projected revenue shortfall because of the virus. The Jefferson County quorum court will meet next week.
