Homeless Little Rock Woman Fights to Stay Warm in Bitter Cold

News

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Jacqueline Smith has been homeless for about ten years and says this is the coldest year ever.

Smith, who wanted to share her story with us, says people have been dropping off different things like sleeping bags, coats and hot chocolate for her to stay warm in the bitter cold weather.

She doesn’t use a shelter because she would have to give up more than half of the things she has because Smith says shelters usually only allow her to store a bag or two when she sleeps inside.

Smith says she knows some who would sleep in abandoned homes but doesn’t feel comfortable doing that.

Smith says she uses a sleeping bag, coats and hats to stay warm.
