COVID-19 in Arkansas: 1,221 new cases reported Sunday

Update:

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — 1,221 Arkansans have been added to the lists of those who have contracted COVID-19 during the pandemic.

That is a combination of 1,019 confirmed and 202 probable cases.

There have been 21 more deaths related to the disease.

The Arkansas Health Department reports 2,470 total deaths have occurred in Arkansas due to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

2,265 of those deaths are confirmed, the other 205 are listed as probable COVID-19 deaths.

136,872 Arkansans are considered recovered.

There are now 16,884 active cases in the state.

1,030 people are hospitalized statewide, that is 20 more than yesterday’s number.

185 people are on ventilators.

“We have 1,221 new COVID-19 cases with a plus 20 in hospitalizations and 21 new deaths. I think about the loss to so many families and the stress on our health care workers. We have a lot of work to do between now and Christmas.” –Gov. Asa Hutchinson

That is a combination of 1,167 confirmed and 182 probable cases.

There have been 13 more deaths related to the disease.

The Arkansas Health Department reports 2,449 total deaths have occurred in Arkansas due to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

2,249 of those deaths are confirmed, the other 200 are listed as probable COVID-19 deaths.

135,614 Arkansans are considered recovered.

There are now 16,942 active cases in the state.

962 people are hospitalized statewide, that is 37 more than yesterday’s number.

183 people are on ventilators.

“There are 1,349 new COVID-19 cases in Arkansas. This is down from last Saturday, but we will know more in the coming ten days as to how we did over Thanksgiving. Continue to take every precaution and let’s not let up.” -Governor Asa Hutchinson

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — 1,052 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Arkansas since yesterday.

There have been a total of 153,677 cases.

That is a combination of confirmed and probable cases.

No new deaths have been reported since Thursday

2,436 is the current total number of reported fatalities due to COVID-19 in Arkansas.

1,011 are currently hospitalized, that is up 8 to a new record.

Ventilator use is also reportedly back up to a record level, at 192.

Active cases have dropped by 680, to 16,908.

Governor Hutchinson released the following statement on today’s COVID-19 numbers:

“As expected, we saw a decrease in testing yesterday, leading to a decrease in new cases compared to last week. The extent to which efforts were taken to help slow the spread this week will become evident in the weeks to come as we get back to a normal level of testing. Continue to protect yourself, your friends, and your family this weekend.”
