Rain Returns Wednesday, Minor Winter Weather Potential Wednesday Night & Thursday

The coldest air of the season plunged into Arkansas for the beginning of December, with low temperatures well below freezing across the entire State. Lows dropped into the low 20s Tuesday morning with a few spots in the 10s.

Low temperatures Wednesday morning drop below freezing again, but not as cold.

Clouds increase Wednesday as a storm system approaches from the West. Rain will increase across the State mainly during the afternoon hours, although sooner West. Rain could briefly mix with a few sleet pellets at the onset. Precipitation will be mainly rain Wednesday, although. rain may mix with or even change over to some snow across parts of Northern Arkansas Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Little or no accumulation is expected though with temperatures mainly above freezing, except for some of the highest elevations of The Boston Mountains where a couple of inches could be possible. A snow mix is also possible for parts of the Ouachita Mountains where little if any accumulation is expected.
