RIO DE JANEIRO — Former Hog Stacy Lewis was just inches away from a spot on the women’s golf medal stand for Team USA.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be.

Inbee Park took gold, and Lydia Ko birdied the 18th hole to edge Shanshan Feng for silver.

Lewis was tied with Haru Nomura at 9-under for 4th place.

Lewis and Nomura came up one shot and few inches short of a playoff with Feng for bronze. Lewis fired a closing 66 and birdied 16 and 17 before leaving a final birdie try hanging on the lip at the 18th hole.

Another former Hog, Gaby Lopez, finished Olympic play in 36th place.  She represented Mexico.
