PINE BLUFF, AR – A Pine Bluff pastor has turned his life story into a book, offering hope that change is possible, regardless of what you’ve done or been through.
Years ago, Jon McCullough was led to Arkansas to plant a multicultural church.
“It’s a place for everyone to come and work for the Lord and be accepted,” he explains.
McCullough is the pastor of Overcomer Assembly in Pine Bluff. He’s a husband, and a father of four. And now, he’s an author.
“Dulapa is the story of 21-year-old naive guy. It was my story based on a true story,” says McCullough.
He says he grew up with the wrong crowd and ended up on the streets, sleeping on the floor of restaurants at times and even avoiding a plot that others had to kill him when he was mistaken for an undercover drug agent.
“I wrote it in the backdrop of angels and demons battling for the young guy’s soul. Cause that’s what was going on. There was a battle for my soul,” he says.
But his life turned around, and this story is one of hope.
“I hope they can see you can really change, and go through stuff and they don’t have to continue on that path. You can totally make it if you just reach up and grab Jesus’ hand. He’s always reaching down to pull you up out of the pit,” says McCullough.
Dulapa is his first in a series of books to come. Click here for more information or to buy the book.
