LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A one-year-old arkansasmatters.com story warning of a pending winter storm in Central Arkansas started circulating on Facebook Monday night as if it was current news.

The January 21, 2016 story was shared hundreds of times and generated thousands of views on arkansasmatters.com.  The title of the story was “Winter Storm 2016.”

A portion of the post read, “The Nation Weather Service says after rain moves out Thursday, another round of wintry precipitation will move in, becoming all snow overnight and into Friday morning before leaving the state around noon.”

Arkansasmatters.com staff has removed the 2016 post in hopes the old information won’t continue to circulate.
