LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- On Friday, Little Rock School District officials took a look at the progress being made at the district’s new Southwest High School.
Officials and the Southwest Business Alliance took a tour of the new classrooms.
While it’s a state-of-the-art academic facility, the hope is that it will be a place where students can train for a career.
The district’s deputy superintendent, Marvin Burton is excited to Principal Burton next fall.
“I look at it as a piece that is a dream deferred,” says Burton. “It’s allowed this part of the city to have a major facility that is really a beacon of light for the students in this particular area.”
Architects expect the new school will open in August 2020.
