Dispensary approved to move to Texarkana by Med. Marijuana Commission

TEXARKANA, Ark. – A medical marijuana dispensary is moving operations to Texarkana.

The Medical Marijuana Commission approved RX Med transferring its location from Prescott.

RX Med cited laws limiting locations for dispensaries and property owners unwilling to sell for their use as reasons for the move.

Texarkana’s mayor says there’s no official location yet, but city staff is being proactive to ensure processes are in place to get these businesses up and running.

“It’s not something that – our city didn’t just jump right into and say this is a great way to make a lot more money, it’s not that easy,” says Texarkana Mayor Allen Brown.

The mayor says medical marijuana dispensaries could be up and running in the city as soon as the end of the month.
