Digital Original: Free eye exams offered for animals by veterinarian wanting to give back

News

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Free eye exams for your furry friends, but you have to hurry registration ends today.

Nearly 300 members of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists from all across the country will be providing free ocular screening eye exams throughout the month of May.

These types of exams typically cost anywhere from $100 to $175 per visit.

Dr. Bill Miller, a veterinary ophthalmologist at Arkansas Emergency & Specialists in Little Rock, is just one of many taking part in this philanthropic event.

“Why is it important? Think about everything these dogs do for our communities,” says Dr. Miller.

The exam requires no sedation, minimal restraint and is non-painful for the animal.

The eye exam usually takes anywhere from 10 to 25 minutes.
