Sept. 28 the DHS Division of Developmental Disabilities Services is hosting the Fall Food & Craft Festival. It’s an exciting event for artisans with developmental disabilities to set up booths and sell their creations to the public. Proceeds from the sales go to the crafters, both those who live out in the community and those who reside at DHS’s Human Development Centers.
Food trucks will be on hand, so people can spend their lunch break grabbing a bite to eat and picking up some unique items made by local artists, which will help those crafters in maintaining their independence.
Governor Asa Hutchinson will also be on hand at the event at 11:15 to unveil an exciting project that DHS has underway to feature these artisans’ work year-round.
