Community Matters: Run for Beverly

News
LITTLE ROCK, AR – It’s a big weekend in the capitol city as runners get ready to take part in the Little Rock Marathon. But Saturday will be even more special for family and friends of Beverly Carter.

Loved ones will remember the slain real estate agent at Saturday’s 5K run. Carter’s son Carl Junior has spent months of organizing the run to honor his mother.

He has sold over 500 pink shirts that will be worn by supporters on Saturday. Carter says if his mom isn’t there to run with him he wants to make sure her spirit is.

“It’s been three months coming that we have been working on organizing this team for mom and it’s finally here. We have a huge team of people that will be either participating in the 5K or cheering,” says Carl.

Carter says the Little Rock 5K became a tradition with him and his mother and he is glad to carry it forward.
