LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A Little Rock Board of Director is calling on the mayor to hold a public forum on his transition team’s report submitted to him last week.
Joan Adcock asked Mayor Frank Scott Jr. to organize a community discussion about the report.
She wants to discuss the transition team’s report which submitted a recommendation of getting rid of at-large board positions.
The mayor has stressed the transition team’s report is nothing official, only ideas the citizen-led subcommittee put together for him.
Director Adcock defended her position, saying at large positions are vital for city business.
“We look at city-wide things where you don’t have Ward politics and I think a lot of people know Ward politics, I want it all for my Ward, and we need to look at the city as a whole,” says Director Joan Adcock.
Mayor Scott told Director Adcock in tonight’s board meeting he’d be happy to meet with her privately but director Adcock quickly fired back saying city business should only be discussed in a public forum.
