LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Ten startup financial technology companies are getting help from a local business that advises entrepreneurs.
The Venture Center will introduce the developing companies in a Demo Day event next week in Little Rock.
The event will celebrate the successes and progress made in 12 weeks by the 10 startup companies selected for the third Venture Center (VC) FinTech Accelerator – sponsored by FIS. Each company received in-depth mentoring and training from FIS and The Venture Center as well as an initial monetary investment of $75,000.
The 2018 program received 281 applications from across the U.S. and 46 other countries.
On July 18, all 10 of this year’s cohort will be presenting their financial technology solutions to a crowd of hundreds of bankers, investors and community leaders. The presentation takes place from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.at The Robinson Center.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson will be there, along with: Mike Preston, Executive Director of AEDC; Gary Norcross, CEO of FIS; Rob Lee, Chief Product Officer of FIS; Wayne Miller, Managing Director of VC FinTech Accelerator; and Mark Stodola, Mayor of Little Rock.
The Venture Center serves as an engine for economic growth in Central Arkansas and beyond. In its first four years, The Venture Center’s member companies have created more than 637 jobs, generated $38 million in revenue and have raised a combined $57 million in capital.
