“Don’t Touch My Crown” at Mosaic Templars Cultural Center

“Hair has become symbolic of African Americans’ struggle to define who they are in Corporate America, society and in their own culture. With the natural hair movement on the rise, various blogs, websites, and applications are dedicated to focusing on the proper care and versatility. “Going natural” ushered the opportunity for African American women to reconnect with their natural roots.”

The exhibit runs through August 31st, with a hairstyle photo competition showing through June 28th, Public voting is open July 2-16, Semifinalists will compete in a juried hair show August 19 at Cultural Center.
