LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – KARK 4 Today anchor Aaron Nolan will be packing his bags early next year to cover the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.
This will be Nolan’s second time covering the Olympics for viewers in Central Arkansas. In 2016, he traveled to Rio to cover the Summer Games (see photo gallery below). Nolan’s series of reports highlighting Sylvan Hills graduate Jeff Henderson’s quest for gold earned a Mid-America Emmy nomination in the category of continuing coverage.
The Olympics in PyeongChang run February 9 – February 25, 2018.
Nolan will report as part of a team from KARK’s parent company Nexstar Broadcasting. He’ll be responsible for providing custom coverage for roughly a half dozen television stations including KARK-TV.
“Just like the Olympics is the pinnacle for athletes in the USA, the games are also a top honor for journalists,” said Nolan. “I’m pumped to be heading to Korea in February and sending back unique stories for our Central Arkansas viewers.”
“The last time Aaron covered the Olympics, I labeled this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him. I guess I was wrong,” said KARK News Director Austin Kellerman. “Aaron did outstanding work in Rio and that’s been recognized with the chance to cover a second Olympic games. He deserves the fantastic opportunity!”
For those keeping score, the games begin in 198 days!
