LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Arkansan Barrett Baber is in the middle of what’s been a long, grueling process on his journey toward becoming a country music superstar. He joined KARK Thursday night to talk about the process and the support he’s gotten from his home state.
Barrett is in the Top 9, but it will take a lot of support for him to move on afterward. Next week, five “Voice” hopefuls will be eliminated. Barrett is counting on the votes of his home state to help him advance.
“At this point, it’s all up to America, and I’m in control of what I’m in control of which is how I perform and my effort and attitude,” Barrett said, “I’m going to let Arkansas do what Arkansas always does in these situations, which is support people that are from their home state on the national level.”
Barrett also discussed the process in choosing his songs. He says his last two selections, “Delta Dawn” and “I’d Just Love to Lay You Down”, were his ideas, but he collaborates a great deal with his coach, Blake Shelton.
