LITTLE ROCK, AR (News release) – Arkansas Today, broadcast weekdays at Noon on KARK 4 News, leaves the studio behind to take a week-long live tour across the Natural State beginning Monday, June 15. The Arkansas Today crew and hosts Mallory Brooks and Pat Walker will visit five towns across Arkansas in five days as part of the Arkansas Today Summer Road Tour.

The show plans to broadcast live from Russellville, El Dorado, Texarkana, Fort Smith and Bentonville.

“I am thrilled to be able to kick off the Arkansas Today Road Tour in my hometown of Russellville. We can’t wait to travel to several cities in the Natural State, and showcase the beauty of Arkansas and the wonderful people who live here. I hope to see you on the tour!,” said Brooks.

“This is going to be my first time on the Arkansas Today Road Tour, and I am so excited. I’m going to get to visit some places that I don’t get the chance to visit very often.  I’m going to get to learn more about life, industry, and the everyday happenings in cities that are outside Central Arkansas,” Walker said.

This marks the third time Arkansas Today has hit the road to tour the state. In 2013, the broadcast visited Hot Springs, Texarkana, El Dorado, Fayetteville and Bentonville. Last year’s tour visited Conway, Hope, El Dorado, Rogers and Bentonville.

Arkansas Today launched April 2, 2012 on KARK in Little Rock, KNWA in Fayetteville, KTVE in El Dorado and KTAL in Texarkana. The broadcast is available in more than 1.4 million households.

During the Arkansas Today Summer Road Tour, Brooks and Walker will broadcast the news and conduct interviews from a different spot in Arkansas each day. Viewers are invited to attend the live shows, appear on television and win prizes. Attendees are encouraged to bring signs to show during the broadcasts.
