Update: $1M Bond for Woman Jailed in LR Stabbing Death

Police say the suspect called them to confess to the killing

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A local woman is being held on $1 million bond for a Wednesday night homicide,

The Little Rock Police Department says Christie Sims, 39, is jailed in the stabbing death of Kevin Mathis, 63.

Police say Sims called police to report that she had killed the man and taken his vehicle when she left a home on Kensington Drive.

Sims is being held at the Pulaski County Jail on charges of Murder 1st Degree and Theft of Property. She also has a Hold for Parole on her booking record.

Police say the relationship between Mathis and Sims is not yet known.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - An arrest report shows a 39-year-old woman called the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) to confess to the murder of a man on Kensington Drive. 

The LRPD says the call came in shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. When officers got to the scene they found the victim's body.

The arrest report shows the man appeared to have suffered stab wounds. 

The report also states that the woman told police she stole property from the home and the victim's car.

A family friend at the home says the victim is in his 50s or 60s.

Crime scene specialists have been seen throughout the evening going in and out of the house with face masks.

Police have not yet released the motive of the murder.
