LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Two separate shootings in Little Rock left two people dead and six others injured Sunday night.
According to the Little Rock Police Department, officers received a call about a shooting near Colonel Glenn Road and University Avenue around 9:25 p.m. Officers said that a driver had been grazed in that shooting.
While on scene of the first shooting, police received a call that seven people had been shot on Washington Street. Two people were killed and five were left injured in this shooting.
Officers said that 20-year-old Malachi Carey died at the scene and 20-year-old Jailene Washington died at a local hospital. Out of the remaining five victims, police said that one is in serious condition.
Officials with the LRPD believe that the two shootings are unrelated. Information on a possible suspect has not been released.
