Police ID victim in deadly Pine Bluff shooting

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Police have identified the victim killed in an overnight Pine Bluff shooting.

Investigators said Friday afternoon that the man they found in the parking lot of the Beech Street Apartments was identified as 27-year-old Rasheem Morris.

According to the Pine Bluff Police Department, officers were called to the apartments located at 2103 South Beech St. just after 12 a.m. Friday. When they arrived on the scene, officers said they saw Morris suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot.

Morris was taken to an area hospital where he later died. Police said another man was also taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries from the shooting.

Investigators believe both victims were shot with rifle caliber rounds in their upper and lower bodies.
