Mayflower family reflects on 5 year anniversary of the murder of Terry Credit

CONWAY, Ark. – The Credit family has been dealing with the murder of Terry Credit for five years.

He was shot in his home on August 17, 2016 and the case still has not been solved.

His sister, Victoria Credit, remembers Terry as someone who never met a stranger.

“I mean that’s the type of person my brother was he would do anything for anybody,” she said.

Victoria said her family struggled for two years coping with the death of Terry and lack of answers but says they are in a better place.

“Every day we were out there you know and then it got easier with time because a at first was like we didn’t want to leave, we had to make ourselves get in our vehicles and leave because it was so hard because it’s like we’re leaving him out here, but it got easier and now we just go out there every now and then,” Credit said.

Victoria said the biggest issue the family is dealing with is not knowing who did this.

Credit’s case is on its third detective and Victoria said it feels like day one to her still.

“It’s like we’re still at square one,” she said.

She does feel authorities are doing everything they can to make some headway on her brother’s case.

“I know he really care because I mean I feel his frustrations when I’m talking to him on the phone,” she explained.

Victoria says she carries a heavy burden because her family looks to her for strength. She has her moments where she breaks down but is always checking on her family to make sure they’re ok.

She hopes her family will have answers soon.

“That’s what we’re praying, that their conscience is working on by now.  That’s all we can do is just pray and know when he’s going to give us justice,” she said.

If you know anything about the murder of Terry Credit, you are asked to give Conway police a call, there is a reward in this case and you can remain anonymous.
