UPDATE: LRPD investigating overnight homicide at Dollar General on Col. Glenn Road, suspect also shot

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Police responded to the Dollar General on Col. Glenn Wednesday morning after a report of a shooting and discovered the body of a deceased man inside a vehicle.

Investigators say they were able to locate the body after a gunshot victim showed up at a local hospital. 

The man told police that he was involved in a shooting at an apartment complex near the Kroger on Col. Glenn at 10 p.m. on Tuesday night.

The gunshot victim then told police that he also shot someone and drove to the Dollar General where he left his vehicle.

When officers went to the location, they discovered a gray Yukon on the parking lot with an unidentified Black man inside who was deceased.

The body has been sent to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy and positive identification.

The shooting victim who spoke to investigators has not yet been charged

Homicide detectives are working to clarify the details and to locate the original crime scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

ORIGINAL STORY – The Little Rock Police Department is investigating after a body was found dead in a car outside a store overnight.

Officers responded to the scene at the Dollar General located at 7710 Colonel Glenn Road.

Police have not identified the victim nor have they released a cause of death.

No information on a suspect in the case has been released.
