PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. – Pulaski County deputies are searching for an inmate who they say escaped from jail overnight.

Officials with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said that 56-year-old inmate Henri Hatten was discovered missing during a Wednesday morning headcount.

PCSP Public Information Officer said Hatten escaped after gaining access to the exercise yard that has a high chain fence around it.

Burk said Hatten was able to get through that and then reach and get through the exterior high chain fence around the facility. He also says they’re looking at how he was able to escape.

“We have our detectives doing the criminal investigation on the escape and we have our professional standard unit doing an internal investigation on that,” Burk said.

Deputies said that Hatten had received a 35-year commitment to the Arkansas Department of Corrections and was waiting for a space.

Court documents show that he was charged with first-degree domestic battery and possession of a controlled substance in February, which violated his parole.

Burk said they have multiple officers looking for Hatten.

“We got our detectives out looking, and the patrol division was contacted immediately. We notified the Little Rock Police Department, they have responded and assisted us,” Burk said.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Hatten is asked to contact deputies at 501-340-6963 or the anonymous tip line at 501-340-8477.
