Authorities: Springdale Pastor Tried to Meet Teen Boy for Sex

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) -- A Springdale pastor with a previous child porn conviction is now under arrest for trying to meet a 14-year-old boy for sex, according to authorities.

Timothy Lee Reddin, 67, was arrested by Homeland Security Investigations after an undercover officer posed as a 14-year-old boy and spoke with Reddin about meeting to have sex. Reddin was arrested on Aug. 3 when he arrived for a meeting that was arranged with the undercover officer online, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Reddin is accused of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor, according to the affidavit.

Reddin is listed as a pastor on the Turner Street Baptist Church website and has a profile on the website. Turner Street Baptist Church is located in Springdale at 4305 S Turner St.

Reddin has a previous arrest and conviction in 2000 in the Eastern District of Arkansas for federal violations of possession of child pornography. He was sentenced to 27 months incarceration and made to register as a non-expiring sex offender, according to the affidavit.

The undercover officer said he was on a website on July 27 in an unrelated undercover capacity when he received an unprovoked message from a website user with the profile name "Lee," according to the affidavit

"Lee" described himself in his profile as a 62-year-old white male, 6'1", 215 pounds and married. The profile description said, "I just wanna have fun...I like younger guys. But hell, at my age that's just about everybody! Discreet, intelligent, witty, professional guy. Love to meet new friends. Especially naked ones," according to the affidavit.

Reddin was booked into the Washington County Detention Center.

Reddin is also listed on Ecclesia College's website as part of the teaching faculty.
