60+ Animals Rescued from Lincoln Home Amid Animal Cruelty Investigation

Officers say there are more animals being pulled from the home


LINCOLN, Ark. - A local woman is behind bars following an animal cruelty investigation. 

The Washington County Sheriff's Office Animal Control served a search warrant on Wednesday at a home located near 120 S. Hwy 45 in Lincoln. 

During the search, deputies seized 67 dogs, 8 goats, 1 pony, and 1 rabbit. 

Authorities say these animals were not voluntarily surrendered to the Sheriff's Office. 

Debbie Cain, 62, was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and charged with 8 counts of Felony Animal Cruelty, and 62 counts of Misdemeanor Animal Cruelty.

Authorities say due to the number of animals seized, they will be held in various locations.

LINCOLN, Ark. - Multiple law enforcement agencies are rescuing dozens of animals from a home due to suspected animal cruelty. 

So far, authorities say they have rescued 60-plus dogs, eight goats, one rabbit, and animals are still being pulled from the home. 

An officer on the scene said they have taken the homeowner into custody. 

The animal rescue is happening on property located near the intersection of Hwy 45 and Hwy 62 in Lincoln.

Law enforcement agencies responding to the home include: Prairie Grove Police Department, Washington County Sheriff's Office, and Washington County Animal Control. 

An officer on the scene said there are bags of dead animals that crews are collecting. They said they have never seen anything like this before. 

Animals will be taken to local animal shelters where they will be evaluated.
