NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Hard work and dedication are the key components to just about anything in life.
Some local leaders are keeping that in mind as crews work to restore life to a popular part of the city.
Fitness, opening businesses and upgrading are the main goals of the Argenta Revitalization Project.
“We’re all about total nutrition,” says Angel Hairston, co-owner of Argenta Nutrition. “We have aloes, teas, shakes. Cinnamon toast is one of my favorites.
A healthy lifestyle comes from a blend of ingredients. At Argenta Nutrition it’s a three-step process.
“We give you the full package to help boost your metabolism,” Hairston adds. “We love North Little Rock, it’s where we’re both from. We grew up here and the Argenta area is up and coming. It’s fresh and new. We just love this place.”
“We have been setting the stage over the past decade,” says Chris Kent, Executive Director of the Argenta Downtown Council.
Topping that list, are a handful of bars and restaurants, dozens of businesses, and now close to 350 new apartments.
Kent says they’ve been actively working to make the area more viable for downtown development.
“Most people say they feel some type of vibe and we refer to it as the Argenta vibe,” continues Kent.
It’s a vibe that continues to grow and evolve. Almost all commercial spots are filled along Main Street.
“You just have to be down here to experience it,” Kent says.
“Everyone has really welcomed us in,” Hairston adds.
This isn’t the only area of North Little Rock that’s being revitalized. There are 15 districts the council is working on.
The districts stretch from the banks of the Arkansas River north to Interstate 40 and everywhere in between. There’s no timetable on when everything will be complete.
