Nick Walters joined KARK as a Sports Reporter/Anchor in December 2019.
A two-time Emmy nominated storyteller at KARK, Nick grew up in the Dallas suburb Colleyville and attended the University of Texas at Austin. His career started as a college sophomore traveling Texas in 2017, freelancing for FOX Sports Southwest and local stations. Nick’s last stop in TV was at KING 5 Seattle as a writer in 2019 after graduating early.
Nick has been editor-in-chief of long-running Texas prep sports website The Old Coach for over three years, still leading it today as he helps mentor students. He has also contributed in the past to 247Sports, CBS Sports Digital, and ESPN Radio.
In his career, Nick has covered pro sports, college sports, bowl games, and a lot of Friday night lights. His work has been featured on SportsCenter, Bleacher Report, among other national platforms. Nick now calls Little Rock home, reporting on everything from Hogs to high school.
Nick’s trademark is blending conventional storytelling and creative media, differentiating his sports reporting with unique production values. He’s passionate about using his platform to offer student-athletes exposure and to shed light on those whose path goes beyond the game, be it special needs or however disadvantaged.
Nick aspires to touch Arkansans with untold local sports stories and to entertain fans with engaging content, from game highlights to recruiting features.
In his free time Nick can be found trying local foodie spots, managing his fantasy sports lineups, and exploring the Natural State alongside his dog Champ.

• Nick’s career began with a green screen in his high school bedroom. With a deep-seated love for the NFL and his Green Bay Packers, Nick hosted and produced his own shows.
• Nick was once a college football recruit. An All-State offensive tackle selection in Texas, he hung up the cleats and picked up a mic.
• Nick has strong ties to New York State. He has lived Upstate as a Syracuse University student and in New York City as a Hofstra University sportscasting camp instructor.
