NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR — Not all armed robberies are created equally.

Most cases are the same: a robber runs into a convenience store, points a gun at the clerk, grabs cash, and runs away. But in North Little Rock in late January, something very different happened.

On January 26th, a man wearing a bandana over his face walked into the Valero on West Broadway, wielding a machete. According to North Little Rock police, he told a clerk to open a cash drawer, but she refused, and he quickly left. And even though he didn’t get his hands on any cash, police say they want to track down this brazen would-be robber.

“It’s kind of bold to go inside the building or the business carrying a machete so that’s why we want to get our suspect caught,” said NLRPD officer Shana Cobbs.

If you know where this man can be found, call the Central Arkansas Crimestoppers tipline at (501) 340-TIPS. You could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for an arrest and conviction. When you call the tipline, you can remain anonymous.
